LODOPPnet or COST Action BM0802 is interested in the death mechanisms found in protozoan parasites.

These organisms cause diseases such as malaria, sleeping sickness, leishmaniasis and toxoplasmosis.
The main aim of this Action is through an extensive, multi-disciplinary translational network, to advance knowledge and understanding of when, why and how protozoan parasites undergo programmed cell death (PCD). This Action is driven by the need for consensus in terminology, approaches and processes, which are central to the potential exploitation of PCD in therapeutic strategies.
